Since 1991, Iceland has contributed €0.6 million of donor funding to support EBRD operations, mainly through the Eastern Europe Energy Efficiency and Environment Partnership (E5P) Fund.
The value of joint Iceland-EBRD investment stood at €278.0 million as of end of February 2023. EBRD finance accounted for €235.0 million, and Iceland investment accounted for €43.0 million.
The joint investment has been in Hungary, Bulgaria, followed by regional projects, and Ukraine. Broken down by industry, the joint investment has been in industry, commerce and agribusiness, sustainable infrastructure and financial institutions.
