'Integrated' is one of the EBRD's six transition qualities
The EBRD's Office of the Chief Economist (OCE) contributes to a better understanding of the economic problems and policy issues at the heart of the EBRD regions through peer-reviewed economic research.
OCE also helps guide the Bank's strategic priorities by measuring the state of transition and development across countries.
EBRD researchers provide operational support through macroeconomic forecasting and by using rigorous field experiments to measure the micro impact of selected operations. In support of these aims, OCE implements a number of large-scale surveys such as the Business Environment and Enterprise Performance Survey (BEEPS, a firm-level survey); the Banking Environment and Performance Survey (BEPS, a banking survey), and the Life in Transition Survey (LiTS, a household/values survey).
Research findings are published in EBRD's Working Paper series and leading economics journals and they also underpin EBRD's flagship publication, the annual Transition Report.
