The EBRD is participating in the World Exchange Congress 2019. The event, which is organized by Terrapinn in partnership with the Capital Markets Authority of Lebanon, is taking place on 26 and 27 February 2019 in Beirut, Lebanon.
The theme of the congress is “Trading Venues Re-Imagined”. Exchanges are reinventing themselves as data owners and innovative technology companies as they seek to broaden their customer base and boost revenue. This is having a profound effect on how exchanges operate, collaborate and prepare for growth.
André Küüsvek, Director of EBRD’s Local Currency and Capital Markets Development (LC2) department, highlights that “The event will be a good opportunity to discuss the EBRD’s involvement in local capital market development across our regions of operation as well as support measures and investments we are providing to a broader audience”.
Over 400 exchange CEOs and executives from around the world: from tier one to frontier exchanges, clearing houses, capital markets organisations, authorities, technology providers to alternative exchange venues will gather in Beirut for two days of high quality discussions, all set around the Phoenicia Hotel in Beirut.
The event will feature over 120 speakers, leaders of exchanges, capital market authorities and clearing houses from around the world as well as EBRD. Hannes Takacs, Associate Director, LC2, will be speaking at the Capital Markets Authority Summit and deliver a key note speech at the main conference.
