The Western Balkans Investment Summit 2020 will be held at the EBRD in London on Monday 24 February. The event will be attended by all heads of government from the region, ministers, policy-makers and leading entrepreneurs.

The aim of the Summit is to highlight potential investment and business opportunities in the Western Balkans region and to promote regional and cross-border projects. This is the fourth EBRD summit of its kind; the inaugural Western Balkans Summit took place at the EBRD in February 2014 and, for the first time, brought together all the region’s six prime ministers.

The Western Balkans is a priority region for the EBRD. Today, the EBRD remains one of the largest institutional investors in countries of the region, with close to €12 billion invested to date.

The Summit will start with a high-level session during which the six leaders and the President of the EBRD will address the audience. This will be an opportunity to discuss their overall vision for the region, key regional projects and opportunities for investment in energy and transport as well as the “soft connectivity” agenda in the Western Balkans. This will be followed by a discussion panel, ‘Green Energy in the Western Balkans’.

The event is by invitation only. Interested investors may contact eckhartb@ebrd.com

Guidance on coronavirus
The World Health Organization (WHO) has declared novel coronavirus/COVID-19 a global public health emergency. The EBRD is therefore taking preventative measures, asking all our guests not to visit our offices within 14 days of arrival from China or Hong Kong. This includes those who have flown through Hong Kong airport. Guests returning from Taipei China are asked to respect the same precautions due to the large number of people who have travelled between China and Taipei China in the past fortnight, as well as the continuing high numbers of people reporting possible infection. This is expected to be a temporary measure and will be reassessed regularly. Please look out for updates.
