The EBRD is hosting a discussion on the rise of women in journalism in the Arab World on Tuesday 1 March 2016.

In the run up to International Women's Day, Channel 4's International Editor, Lindsey Hilsum, asks women reporters with roots in the Arab world how women are changing the face of war reporting. As a founder of The Marie Colvin Journalists' Circle which was launched in February of this year, Hilsum is part of a network mentoring young women journalists in the Middle East. What draws them to the frontline? She is joined by BBC journalist Yalda Hakim, FT columnist Roula Khalaf, and media owners from the region.

Please join us for coffee and tea from 17.00 in advance of the discussion. The discussion will begin at 18.00 (sharp) in the Auditorium. Afterwards, there will be a drinks reception.

This event is organised in collaboration with One World Media, which supports independent media around the globe.

Admission is free. External guests will though have to register since space will be limited. Please note that this discussion will be extremely popular and registration does not guarantee entry.

Registration for this event is now closed.
