The Baltic Way. The next 30 Years: how we shape our future

The EBRD Cultural Programme is hosting a discussion on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of "the Baltic Way" organised with the Embassy of the Republic of Estonia, the Embassy of the Republic of Latvia and the Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania at EBRD's London headquarters on 25th of September.

On 23 August 1989 nearly two million people in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania linked hands to form a 400-mile long human chain.

They came together peacefully across the borders of three nations to advocate independence from the Soviet Union. 

This historic event came to be known as “the Baltic Way”.

"The Baltic Way. The next 30 Years:  how we shape our future" will be moderated by Rosie Goldsmith, Journalist, Director of European Literature Network and Chair of the EBRD Literature Prize with speakers:

The discussion will be followed by a reception on Wednesday, 25 September 2019 at 6pm until 9pm.
