The event will aim to showcase the work of social entrepreneurs engaged in the refugee response in Turkey and will seek to match social business ideas with the investor community. The conference will entail six workshops with social entrepreneurs who work in the areas of entrepreneurship and economic integration, early education, youth and higher education, technology, women’s empowerment and employment, and empowering civic initiatives.
In particular, the EBRD will sponsor the workshop on entrepreneurship and economic integration. In Turkey, the EBRD is seeking to improve the economic conditions and prospects of refugee-hosting communities in a manner that benefits both the host and refugee populations.
Ashoka has identified over 20 social entrepreneurs active in the field, who will present their current and planned activities supporting the economic resilience of host communities and the economic integration of refugees.
