Under the patronage of his Excellency Youssef Chahed, Head of Government of Tunisia, and in partnership with the Tunisian Ministry of Development, Investment and International Cooperation, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the International Finance Cooperation (IFC) are organising a high level international forum on public-private partnerships (PPPs) to be held at the Laico Hotel in Tunis on 18 September 2018.
This one-day event will explore opportunities to use PPPs to boost infrastructure development and private investments in Tunisia. Ministers from the government will present a pipeline of about 25 PPP projects in sectors such as power, ports, roads, railway, logistics, wastewater, desalination, urban transport, solid waste and urban development.
The opening panel will bring together key policymakers and senior representatives from global infrastructure operators, as well as international financial investors to discuss how the international success of PPPs might be replicated in Tunisia. The rest of the event will feature practical sectorial workshops during which projects will be presented and discussed in depth.
Zied Ladhari, Minister of Development, Investment and International Cooperation of Tunisia, as well as his Excellency Youssef Chahed; Pierre Heilbronn, EBRD Vice President; a high representative from IFC; and Imad Najib Fakhoury, former Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, Jordan will all speak at the event.
