The EBRD is hosting the second Annual General Meeting of the Green Bond Principles on 16 June at its London headquarters. The event will provide an update to the 2016 principles, together with other international developments related to the green bond market, as well as to green and sustainable finance.
The Green Bond Principles are voluntary process guidelines intended for broad use by the market that recommend transparency and disclosure, and promote integrity in the development of the Green Bond market. Launched in April 2014, they are established as the best practice standard for issuing in this market, continuing to evolve in line with market developments.
Green Bonds raise funds for new and existing eligible projects with environmental benefits. The Green Bond market has proved to be a fast growing global phenomenon, with issuance of in excess of $40 billion in 2015.
András Simor, EBRD Vice President and CFO, will open the conference.
