The EBRD is supporting cities in its region to address COVID-19 pandemic outbreak, while balancing the need to tackle climate change. With more than 60% of people in the EBRD region living in cities, urban centres have been particularly vulnerable to the COVID-19 crisis. How to address a green recovery whilst ensuring citizens’ quality of life? How to promote inclusion of vulnerable groups, women and young people?
The online session organised during the European Week of Regions and Cities will bring together mayors, financiers and urban experts to discuss the importance of addressing hand in hand green recovery and inclusion as well as policies and investments needed to rebuild cities across the EBRD region.
The EU Week of Regions and Cities is an annual four-day event during which cities and regions showcase their capacity to create growth and jobs, implement European Union cohesion policy, and prove the importance of the local and regional level for good European governance.
