The EBRD’s 30th Annual Meeting and Business Forum was held virtually on 28 June - 2 July 2021. This is the key event in the yearly cycle of the Bank – combining the reunion of the Board of Governors (the EBRD’s highest decision-making body) and the Business Forum (an opportunity to connect with a wide cross-section of business guests from around the world).
We were therefore pleased to announce the return of the Business Forum this year. The overall theme of the 2021 Business Forum was Building Back Better Economies. The coronavirus pandemic has been the worst crisis the EBRD countries of operations have faced since the Bank was created at the end of the Cold War. At the EBRD we are committed to helping these countries rebound and recover: addressing remaining and new transition gaps, and building resilient and sustainable economies that are green, inclusive and embrace digital transition.
The five-day virtual EBRD Business Forum offered guests a dynamic programme of discussion and dialogue on these and other wide-ranging issues that shape our future, as well as a series of special associated events.
Importantly, the Business Forum also provided extensive networking opportunities as it welcomed participants from around the world, including high-level government officials, leading financial and corporate executives, entrepreneurs from the regions, representatives of civil society, and international media.
