The Asian Network of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is pleased to invite you to the Asian Network Business Innovation Forum on 18 November 2019 at the EBRD Auditorium followed by the Year-End Reception with Asian cultural exhibitions, music and food at the Espresso bar.
Rapid technological progress and innovation have boosted economic growth and prosperity across the world especially in East Asia, namely Japan, Korea, Taipei China, and China. With new technologies, a number of Asian companies grew to become renowned global companies and many young Asian tech companies are leading the disruptive technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, robotics, 3D printing, the Internet of Things (IoT), biotechnology, etc. The Asian Network Business Innovation Forum will cover these topics with representatives from leading Asian companies and speakers that have in-depth knowledge about innovations in Asia.
The forum will be followed by an Asian Network Year-end Reception, which is open to all internal and external guests to enjoy exhibitions of Central, East, and South Asian cultures, Asian music as well as food and drinks.

- Prof. Jong Min Kim, Professor of Electrical Engineering, University of Cambridge: a former Senior Vice President in Samsung Electronics Corporate R&D Centre who managed several tens of millions of dollars per annum for major projects in Samsung for 17 years; Was responsible for a number of world first inventions such as carbon nanotube; quantum dot based LEDs, etc.
- Yosuke Kurihara, CEO/Director, Uhuru Corporation United Ltd: Currently leading the overseas headquarters of Uhuru Corporation, an IoT company that provides “IoT Orchestration service” directing data and IoT projects and innovations for the governments, local administrations, and private firms in the UK and Japan.
- Tammy Yang, Founder/CEO, Numbers Ltd: a data scientist with a particle physics PhD from Manchester University who’s currently leading Numbers, a big data analysis company in Taipei; Has more than 15+ years of experience working in Canonical, Viscovery and DT42 as a software engineer, tech lead, AI developer, CEO and founder.
- Angelica Anton, Founder/Managing Partner, SILK Ventures: Currently leading SILK Ventures, a UK and China-based investment fund supporting tech startups set to transform the financial services, healthcare and mobility sectors; a foreign investment advisor to the Chinese government since 2012 and was featured on the Women in Fintech Powerlist and Forbes 30.
