Providing state-of-the-art assessment technology and working with a multinational network of organisations and government bodies to develop and deliver exams in 25 languages worldwide, PeopleCert is a leader in the assessment and certification of professional skills and languages.
With the support of the EBRD’s advisory programme in Greece, which is funded by the European Union through the European Investment Advisory Hub (EIAH) of the European Investment Bank, PeopleCert has advanced its capabilities for managing scalable growth in business management, sales, marketing and operations.
Beginning its journey in 2000 in Greece, PeopleCert has successfully expanded to become a key player on the global market, representing over 450 employees. Professionals in over 200 countries are certified every year with the support of PeopleCert.
“To date, we have a partner network of 2,000 training organisations worldwide, 50,000 companies and 800 government departments,” says Byron Nicolaides, PeopleCert’s Founder and CEO.
The company’s portfolio includes internationally recognised best practices, such as ITIL® and PRINCE2®, alongside a range of language qualifications. In January 2018, PeopleCert became the sole accreditation organisation to provide AXELOS- a company co-owned by Capita plc and the British Government- certifications and examination services worldwide. In 2020, the company won a multiyear contract with the British Home Office for the provision of SELT English language tests, aimed at candidates needing to verify their English language skills to work, study or apply for permanent residency in the United Kingdom.
Since the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic, PeopleCert has increased the capacity of its online proctored examinations to accommodate candidates who wish to take their professional certification and language qualification exams remotely and securely. Exams can be securely taken from the candidate’s home or office – all that is needed is a computer, a webcam and an internet connection.
Mr. Nicolaides ascribes the company’s success to the importance placed upon continued learning, reskilling and upskilling: “PeopleCert equips professionals around the world with the certified knowledge they need to advance their career and remain agile in their respective industries through constant upskilling. Lifelong learning is a necessity nowadays to remain competitive in the globalised job market.”
PeopleCert’s expansion over the past two decades has been inspiring, but always brings new challenges as the company continues to grow and evolve. This is where the EBRD stepped in to provide PeopleCert with the support it would need to continue to innovate and excel on the international stage.
Through the EBRD’s business advisory programme, international advisors helped the company with the development of real-time management dashboards and advised on operational optimisation in digital marketing, sales acceleration, product adoption, human resource management, and service operations and delivery.
