The EBRD Board of Directors has approved the appointment of Elizabeth J. Nelson as Vice President, Risk & Resources. In this position, she will report directly to the President and be part of the Executive Committee, assuming responsibility for four crucial departments: Risk Management, Human Resources, Administrative Services and IT. She replaces Horst Reichenbach who now heads the EU Task Force on Greece.
Ms. Nelson comes to the EBRD with extensive experience in the financial sector. Most recently, she was Head of Credit Department in Prudential Risk at the Financial Services Authority (FSA) in the UK, where she built the Authority’s first Credit Department with a team of wholesale, retail and structured finance credit experts. Prior to this, she held a number of senior management positions at JPMorgan Chase, including Head of Corporate Banking and Head of Client Credit Management, both for the EMEA Region.
In a career spanning some 30 years at Chase Manhattan and JPMorgan Chase, Ms. Nelson has a proven track record in risk management and driving organisational change, as well as in developing effective teams and promoting employee development. She has served as Co-Chair of the City Women’s Club, and was a senior sponsor of the JPMorgan's EMEA Women’s Interactive Network.
Elizabeth Nelson is a graduate of the University of Minnesota and holds an advanced degree from the Garvin School of International Management. She holds dual UK/US citizenship.
