Project description and objectives:
|
The EBRD is considering investing up to 10% of total commitments, not to exceed EUR 100 million, in a regional private equity fund with a target size of EUR 750 million. The fund will seek to invest directly in equity and equityrelated securities of companies operating in Central and south-eastern Europe as well as Ukraine.

The transition impact of the proposed project would come from the following three areas: institution building and development of sustainable private equity managers in the region, restructuring of investee companies and accelerating the creation and development of industry leaders in the region, and demonstration effects of new ways to finance activities in less advanced transition countries, including the use of leverage.
