Project description
and objectives:

The proposed project is to invest in a regional private equity fund with a target size of EUR 350 million. The Fund will invest with the objective of providing investors with significant long-term capital returns through private, directly negotiated investments in companies operating primarily in South Eastern Europe.

Transition impact:

Transition impact stems from supporting Global Finance in its move to become a pan-Balkan private equity group, consolidating investment activities across different countries under a single fund. Further impact comes from increased supply of capital to South East Europe, as well as demonstration effects through sound investments in the region. The Fund manager is expected to adopt a hands-on approach by taking positions on boards of portfolio companies and transferring technical expertise to the portfolio companies.

The client:

Global Finance South Eastern Europe Fund L.P. is a private equity fund managed by the SEE Partners, a subsidiary of Global Finance International Ltd., the Adviser to the Fund. Global Finance is a well established private equity group which has been investing in Bulgaria and Romania since 1994.
