Environmental impact:
|
The environmental due diligence, including a site visit by the Bank’s
Environmental Specialist and a review of documentation, confirmed that the
environmental impacts from constructing the site will be limited. The most
significant issue associated with the project is the potential impact
(including flooding) of storm-water and drainage run-off and compliance of the
proposed technology, notably the paint shop, with EU environmental standards.
Additional information needs to be obtained from the Company to clarify these
issues and complete the environmental due diligence. The Project is structured
to meet both Russia and EU environmental standards and an Environmental Action
Plan (EAP), which will address the drainage and the paint shop operations,
will be developed and agreed with the Company prior to Board consideration.
The Sponsor’s production capacities in Poland are well controlled and high
standard facilities and meet all the requirements of EU standards including
ISO 9001-2000, ISO 14001 Environmental Management Certificate and the
Occupational Health and Safety Certificate according to the PN-N-18001 and
OHSAS 18001).
