Donor funded technical cooperation (TC) assignments help to prepare the way for EBRD projects, to strengthen public institutions and to improve standards of corporate governance. TC assignments are selected for evaluation based on their potential for generating lessons that could be of benefit to new operations. Recent evaluations include an assignment preparing electricity distribution companies for privatisation and an assignment assisting with the upgrade of a national road network.
Project Completion Reports, which are prepared by the Bank’s operational teams, are reviewed by EvD to determine whether the assignment provided value for money. The evaluation aims to improve the quality of TC assignments over the longer term
