Project description
and objectives:

The proposed project is for the construction and operation of a Greenfield cement plant about 30 km north of Tirana. The project would also comprise two quarries in the vicinity of the site to supply the cement plant with raw materials. The start of production is likely to be in 2010.

The Bank is financing the project along side the International Finance Corporation (IFC).

The new plant has been designed to meet Albanian and European Union Environmental Standards.
