Project description
and objectives:

• The Bank will co-finance the establishment of the first regional municipal waste landfill in accordance to the EU and National Waste Management Strategy. This would be the first regional landfill fully compliant with the EU and National Waste Management Strategy on regionalisation of municipal solid waste disposal.
  
  
• In line with the Croatian National Strategy, the City of Pula and the Istrian County have established the new Regional Waste Management Centre for Istria region, Kastijun d.o.o., which will be designed to meet Croatian and EU standards. The newly formed Company will be responsible for the supervision and implementation of the investment programme for the Project and for the organisation and monitoring of all waste treatment and disposal activities.
  
  
• The project will be co-financed by EU Infrastructure Pre-accession Fund (EU IPA).
