Crimea Municipal Infrastructure Project

Crimean Republican Enterprise “Production Enterprise of Water and Wastewater Management Utility of the South Coast of Crimea” intends using the proceeds of a loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development [the Bank] and a grant from Sida (Sweden) for a project to finance the rehabilitation and upgrade of water and wastewater treatment facilities and system in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea. The investments are to contribute to significantly decreasing the level of polluting discharges into the Black Sea. The proposed project, which has a total estimated cost of EUR 18 million equivalent, will require the procurement of the following goods, works and services:

· Construction of water main (Kaspana-Schastlivoye)
· Rehabilitation of water main (Schastlivoye tunnel)
· Rehabilitation of water distribution networks
· Rehabilitation of rising sewer (main pumping station to Yalta wastewater treatment plant)
· Modernisation of pumping stations (Rusalka, Primorie, Yalta main)
· Rehabilitation of wastewater collector (Alupka)
· Modernisation of wastewater treatment plants (Yalta, Gurzuf, Simeiz)
· Closure of Katseveli wastewater treatment plant

Tendering for the above contracts is expected to begin in the Q4 2012.

Contracts to be financed with the proceeds of a loan from the Bank and Sida grant will be subject to the Bank's Procurement Policies and Rules and will be open to firms from any country. The proceeds of the Bank's loan will not be used for the purpose of any payment to persons or entities, of for any import of goods, if such payment or import is prohibited by a decision of the United Nations Security Council taken under Chapter VII of the Charter of the United Nations or under a law of official regulation of the Purchaser's country.
