The EBRD develops partnerships with local and international business and investment community. We act in close cooperation with all our members, public and private entities and all multilateral institutions concerned with the economic development of, and investment in countries from central Europe to central Asia. These include the European Union, the European Investment Bank, the World Bank Group, the International Monetary Fund and the United Nations and its specialised agencies.
In all our operations, we also maintain a close political dialogue with governments, authorities and representatives of civil society to promote our goals.
Civil society organisations are both influential audiences and partners in EBRD’s countries of operations.
The EBRD uses funds donated by member governments and institutions to support the region's transition to market economies.
We provide strong support for small businesses - a major engine for sustainable growth across our region of operations.
We engage with banks, insurance companies and other providers of financial services to develop the financial sector and foster entrepreneurship.
We work in close collaboration with other IFIs, joining forces in investments and policy dialogue.
