INVITATION FOR TENDERS

BULGARIA

SUPPLY OF A SINGLE VEHICLE MOUNTED BOOM LIFT

This Invitation for Tenders follows the General Procurement Notice for this project which was published in Procurement Opportunities on the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development website on 03 August 2007.

Kozloduy Nuclear Power Plant (KNPP), hereinafter referred to as the Employer, intends using a grant received from the Kozloduy International Decommissioning Support Fund, administered by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (the Bank) towards the cost of a Single Vehicle Mounted Boom Lift.

The Employer now invites sealed tenders from Contractors for the following Contract to be funded from part of the grant:

Supply of new mobile elevating working platform equipment for the safe working at height during decommissioning at Kozloduy Nuclear Power Plant together with associated supporting services.

The estimated contract award is September 2008.

The works shall be completed in no more than 8 (eight) months after Contract award.

Tendering for contracts to be financed with the proceeds of a grant from the Bank is open to firms from all eligible countries as of 1st June 2008. These are: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Cyprus, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovak Republic, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom and the EBRD’s countries of operation.

The proceeds of the Bank’s Grant will not be used for the purpose of any payment to persons or entities, or for any import of goods, if such payment or import is prohibited by a decision of the United Nations Security Council taken under Chapter VII of the Charter of the United Nations.

To be qualified for the award of a contract, tenderers will have to demonstrate to the Employer that it substantially satisfies the requirements detailed in the Instructions to Tender and Tender Data regarding its recent relevant experience and capabilities to provide such systems and equipment and associated services.

Tender documents may be obtained at the Employer's mailing address listed below, upon payment of a non-refundable fee of €250 (two hundred and fifty Euros), or equivalent in a convertible currency, in cash, or by bank transfer to the following bank accounts:

Bank commissions and fees shall be to the expense of the tenderer.

If requested, the documents will be promptly dispatched by courier, but no liability can be accepted for loss or late delivery.

All tenders must be accompanied by a tender security of €10,000 (ten thousand Euros) or its equivalent in a convertible currency. Tenders must be delivered to the office at the address below on or before 10.00am (local Bulgarian time) on Thursday 7th August 2008. On the same day (Thursday 7th August 2008) at 2 pm (local Bulgarian time) they will be opened in the presence of those tenderers’ representatives who choose to attend.

Tenders delivered after this deadline will be rejected and returned unopened.

This notice refers to goods, works, or consultancy services to be procured through open and competitive tendering for projects financed through funds which are administered by the EBRD. Potential tenderers desiring additional information on the procurement in question or the project in general should contact the Project Management Unit and not the EBRD.
