General Procurement Notice

The Bohunice International Decommissioning Support Fund (BIDSF), administered by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, was established in November 2001 to finance and/or co-finance selected projects over a period of approximately 10 years amounting to approximately EUR 170 million. Slovenska elektrizacna prenosova sustava, a.s. (SEPS, a.s.) is undertaking a programme of measures in the electricity transmission system which are consequential to the decision taken by the Slovak Republic to final shutdown Bohunice Nuclear Power Plant, Units 1 and 2 (Bohunice V1 NPP) to be financed and/or co-financed with the resources of the Fund. Approval of the projects financing is subject to the decision of the Assembly of Contributors of the BIDSF. The Assembly may modify the contents of the projects.

The General Procurement Notice draws attention to the following procurement activities for services, works and goods in an environmentally safe and cost effective manner:

Supply of the main and auxiliary electrical and instrumentation and control equipment and related works and services as required for the reconstruction measures of the electric stations, transformation stations, overhead transmission lines and all related facilities to adapt the electricity transmission system to the conditions after final shutdown of Bohunice V1 NPP.

Tendering for the above-mentioned activities is expected to begin in January 2010.

The procurement of contracts to be financed with the proceeds of a BIDSF grant, administered by EBRD, will be subject to the EBRD Procurement Policies and Rules with the exception of country eligibility restrictions defined within the BIDSF. The eligible countries in December 2009 are: the European Union member states, Switzerland and the EBRD countries of operations. The proceeds of the BIDSF grants will not be used for the purpose of any payment to persons or entities, of for any import of goods, if such payment or import is prohibited by a decision of the United Nations Security Council taken under Chapter VII of the Charter of the United Nations or under a law of official regulation of the Purchaser's country.
