KRAKOW PLASZOW II PROJECT

The Kraków water and wastewater municipal utility, Miejskie Przedsiębiorstwo Wodociągów i Kanalizacji (the “Company”) has requested a loan from the European Bank of Reconstruction and Development and intends using the proceeds to finalise its capital investment programme.

The loan extension of EUR 9.6 million will predominantly be used to increase the Bank's financing contribution to certain contracts already procured under the existing Project (originally signed in 2000) and is expected to require the procurement of one new contract for the construction of a new facility for electricity generation from sludge biogas

Tendering, under Local Competitive Tendering procedures, is expected to begin in the first Quarter of 2010.

Contracts to be financed with the proceeds of a loan from the Bank will be subject to the Bank's Procurement Policies and Rules and will be open to firms from any country. The proceeds of the Bank's loan will not be used for the purpose of any payment to persons or entities, of for any import of goods, if such payment or import is prohibited by a decision of the United Nations Security Council taken under Chapter VII of the Charter of the United Nations or under any law or official regulation of the Purchaser's country.
