SC AQUATIM SA Timisoara intends using the proceeds of a loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development [the Bank] for a project to rehabilitate of the sewerage network in the City of Timisoara. The proposed project, which forms part of a larger EU ISPA/EBRD financed project, will require the procurement of the following works:
1. To replace approximately 5.5 km sewers between 400mm and 1200mm diameter together with associated property connections, manholes and chambers.
o 1.15 km of 400mm diameter
o 0.35 km of 500mm diameter
o 0.3 km of 600mm diameter
o 1.8 km of 800mm diameter
o 0.6 km of 900mm diameter
o 0.5 km of 1000mm diameter
o 0.85 km of 1200mm diameter
Tendering for the above contracts is expected to begin in the first quarter of 2008.
Contracts to be financed with the proceeds of a loan from the Bank will be subject to the Bank's Procurement Policies and Rules and will be open to firms from any country. The proceeds of the Bank's loan will not be used for the purpose of any payment to persons or entities, of for any import of material, if such payment or import is prohibited by a decision of the United Nations Security Council taken under Chapter VII of the Charter of the United Nations or under a law of official regulation of the Purchaser's country.
