EBRD sells 10 per cent stake in Poland's Rolimpex S.A.
After eight years of partnership the EBRD has exited its investment in Rolimpex, S.A., a Polish agribusiness trading and processing company listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange. The Bank sold its 10 per cent stake in Rolimpex to a number of Polish institutional investors via the Warsaw Stock Exchange on 3 June with the assistance of CDM Pekao.
The EBRD’s engagement with Rolimpex began in July 1996 when the Bank participated in the company’s privatisation in support of Poland's agribusiness sector. Since then Rolimpex S.A. has been restructured and has become a leading producer of feed in a key sector of the Polish economy.
EBRD was particularly pleased that Provimi Polska Holding Sp. z o.o. joined the company as a strategic investor and strengthened Rolimpex’s management as well as set the company on a clear strategic direction. Consequently, as its transition role as a stake holder in Rolimpex S.A. has come to an end and in accordance with its normal policy, it has exited the investment.
The EBRD has now signed 205 investments in the agribusiness sector totalling more than €3.25 billion.
