EBRD hosts second regional seminar in Sarajevo
Experts discuss development of transport in the region
Ahead of its Annual Meeting in Belgrade in May 2005, the EBRD is hosting the
second of four regional seminars next week, this time focusing on the
development of transport infrastructure across south-eastern Europe, Hungary
and Slovenia.
The seminar in Sarajevo, capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina, will take place
2-3 December and will be opened by EBRD President Jean Lemierre, Prime
Minister of Bosnia and Herzegovina Adnan Terzic, and Karl-Heinz Grasser,
Minister of Finance for Austria and Chairman of the EBRD’s Board of Governors.
Ministers, representatives of the international community, business leaders
and experts are expected to discuss the challenges and opportunities for the
development of transport infrastructure in this region. The seminar follows a
conference in Zagreb held in early November focusing on the development of
municipal infrastructure across the region. It will be followed by seminars on
energy in Tirana, Albania (February 2005), and on privatisations in Skopje,
FYR Macedonia (March 2005), which will address key issues and see how best to
develop these core sectors and overcome obstacles to investment.
The keynote speakers will host a press conference in Sarajevo on 3
December at 11.10hrs, at the Holiday Inn Hotel, Zmaja od Bosne 6a.
If you would like to attend this event, please contact Ms Daria Linkes
