opened by Croatia’s Prime Minister Ivo Sanader, EBRD President Jean Lemierre,
Croatia’s Minister of Finance Ivo Suker and the Mayoress of Zagreb, Vlasta

The keynote speakers will attend a press conference in Zagreb on 8 November at

Ministers, mayors, representatives of the international community, business
leaders and experts are expected to discuss the challenges and opportunities
for the development of local infrastructure in South-East Europe. We are
looking forward to an open exchange of views on a matter of great importance
for the successful development of the whole region, said Thomas Maier, EBRD
Director for Municipal and Environmental Infrastructure.
The seminar in Zagreb will be followed by conferences on transport (Sarajevo,
2-3 December), energy (Tirana, February 2005) and privatisations (Skopje,
March 2005). The seminars will address key issues and see how best to develop
these core sectors and overcome obstacles to investment.
