The Meeting of the Heads of Government of the Central European Initiative (CEI) was hosted by the Romanian Prime Minister Emil Boc on 13 November 2009, back to back with the Meeting of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs. The Summit was attended by the Heads of Government or their delegates from the 18 CEI Member States and representatives of international organisations and IFIs, including EBRD President, Thomas Mirow.
The CEI Summit marked the 20th Anniversary of the initiative, which operates as regional organisation in Trieste, Italy and within the EBRD's Official Co-financing Unit, where, since 1992, it provides support to Technical Cooperation assignments.
On this occasion the Heads of Government issued a declaration
(0.1Mb), which looks back at the organisation’s 20 year history, its role in the region and future tasks. Further information on the CEI can be found on the CEI website.
