Resource recovery and recycling have is part of EBRD office culture.

The EBRD uses certified companies to dispose of obsolete equiment.

In 2005, the EBRD’s management formed a multi-departmental working group to consider a range of energy and environment related issues. These include increasing the Bank’s internal energy efficiency, increasing recycling and reducing the environmental impact from the Bank’s international travel.

The group will also review how the EBRD might manage the environment impact of its purchasing decisions by formally including environmental considerations in purchasing decisions. The working group is made up of members from the Administration Department, Environment and Sustainability Department, Communications, Purchasing Unit and Staff Council. It meets regularly and reports to the Bank’s Executive Committee.

More information on the Bank's resource use and recycling is available in the Sustainability Report.
