Nuclear safety

The EBRD manages 6 nuclear safety and decommissioning funds. The international community provides significant financial support to assist with the decommissioning of soviet-designed nuclear power plants, the safe treatment and storage of nuclear fuel and radioactive waste, and the transformation of the destroyed reactor in Chernobyl into an environmentally safe state.
