TAM/BAS and Donors

The TAM/BAS Programme has been funded by donors since its creation in 1993. More than 20 bilateral and institutional donors have supported the TAM and BAS Programmes with over €191 million in funding.

Donor funding has enabled the Programme to contribute to the EBRD’s transition impact mandate by assisting over more than 10,000 small and medium sized enterprises in 30 countries from Central Europe to Far East Russia.

The European Union is the biggest single donor, with major current funding coming through the Instrument for Pre-Accession (IPA). Japan is the largest individual bilateral donor. Recently, TAM/BAS has received funding from the newly established EBRD Shareholders’ Special Fund.

TAM/BAS works closely with donors in order to respond to specific needs in line with each donor’s strategy. The unique partnership between TAM/BAS and donors is at the core of the Programme's success. (Map).
