Brigid Janssen, Director of Communications

Brigid Janssen is Director of Communications, overseeing the Bank’s strategy for media relations, publications, the website, conferences and internal communications as well as the active dialogue the EBRD conducts with non-governmental organisations and other outside communities.

Before joining the EBRD in 2001, she managed media relations at the International Finance Corporation, part of the World Bank Group. From 1990-98, she held various positions in the press office and Secretary-General’s Office at the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development, including for the last three years, Head of Communications. Prior to joining the OECD, she had a career in journalism, first in her native Canada before being named bureau chief for United Press International managing coverage for France and francophone Africa, and then as a freelance journalist based in Paris.
