Chris Holyoak, Corporate Director, Budget and Financial Policy
Chris Holyoak is the Corporate Director of Finance. A UK national, he is a Chartered Accountant who has held various senior Finance and Operations positions in some of the world’s leading investment and commercial banks including Citibank, where he was responsible for the audit of the Bank’s computer systems in Europe, Middle East and Africa; Banque Paribas Capital Markets where he was Chief Financial and Administrative Officer; and Credit Suisse First Boston where he was an Executive Director.
Chris joined EBRD at the time of its formation in 1991. At the outset he was the Bank’s Controller responsible for accounting/financial reporting functions and operations/back office activities. In 1997 the Finance function was reorganised resulting in the Bank’s IT function also reporting to Chris.
During this time he also assumed the role of Acting Chief Compliance Officer.
In 2005 he was assigned responsibility for the Bank’s Administration, Procurement and Consulting Services activities, during which time he was also personally responsible for the delivery of the EBRD Headquarters Refurbishment project.
In 2007 he moved back to Finance as Corporate Director in charge of Budget, Financial Planning and Capital Adequacy matters.
Throughout his time at EBRD Chris Holyoak has been involved in all aspects of the Bank’s Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery arrangements including the coordination of related policy matters.
