Olivier Descamps, Managing Director, Turkey, Eastern Europe, Caucasus and Central Asia

Professional

Over 29 years of broad and senior executive experience in international corporate finance and development policy. Between 1975 and 1993 with Chase Manhattan Group in Rio de Janeiro, New York and London. Held several managerial positions: Team Leader, Corporate Banking, Rio de Janeiro; Vice-President North America Corporate Finance and South America Corporate Banking, New York; Managing Director, Leveraged Acquisition European Group and Benelux Corporate Finance, London.

In 1993, joined the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) in Merchant Banking Department as Director, Balkans; currently Managing Director, Turkey, Eastern Europe, Caucasus and Central Asia, Member of the Banking Department Senior Management responsible for EBRD’s overall strategy, government relationship, business development, project execution, and management of an €5.7 billion investment portfolio in 13 countries.  Additional specific responsibilities include a network of 13 Resident Offices, EBRD in-house Small Equity Fund; the EBRD Advisory Services to local enterprises, and the EBRD’s strategic approach to the poorest countries of operations under the Early Transition Countries Initiative.
